Happy New Year from PeaceQuest

On behalf of the Board of Directors, our PeaceQuest local groups, and volunteers, I’d like to wish you a very Happy New Year from the PeaceQuest Leadership and Education Initiative.

In 2021, it is my hope that PeaceQuest will continue to write a new chapter that builds on its roots and grows into new areas of peace education and action in Canada.

We are so fortunate to have you as a PeaceQuest supporter. I am grateful for all of your actions for peace, whether they be reading and sharing our newsletter, signing our petitions, sending us information and ideas, and making donations to support our urgent work for peace.

Only a few short months ago, our supporters numbered about 600 people… but it has grown three-fold to over 1800 committed folks, just like you. Visitors to our website consistently give our programs a 4+ rating out of a possible five stars.

In the months ahead PeaceQuest will be contacting you for our new strategic visioning process, so that we can continue to engage successfully even more Canadians in the work for peace, environmental sustainability, and social justice.

Key issues we will be confronting will be the UN Nuclear Ban Treaty, Canada’s need for a peaceful economy, and redirecting our growing military budget to urgent priorities such as expanding our cherished social programs.

In addition, we will be continuing to work with teachers to find ways to promote peace and social justice education in our schools.

I want to thank the many donors who contributed to our recent Season of Peace fundraising campaign. So far, we have raised $6281 through our secure donation page, and there are many more donations on their way through the mail, which will bring us much closer to our $10,000 goal.

I hope you have had a warm and safe New Year celebration with those close to you, and I look forward to being in touch throughout the year to come.

Thank you for everything you do for peace.
