Fear of Russia is a distraction from what the US game is playing to make them the saviours. Tyrants have no integrity, and functions to destabilize any power revealing independence from their hubris.

With Trump at the helm, it is, without doubt, the USA that poses the greatest foreign interference threat to Canada. This is obvious from Trump's public pronouncements, calling on Canada to be obliterated as a country and transformed into a 51st American state. He has even stated how he plans to achieve this plan, through economic coercion. This is not just empty talk--all the tariffs he has imposed on Canada in direct contravention of our tri-country free trade agreement are devastating steps in furtherance of his goal. And now his administration is even meeting with Alberta separatists, anxious to siphon off Alberta's abundance of natural resources for the benefit of MAGA America. Trump is a clear and present danger to our country, not someone we should be negotiating any further trade agreements with. And any illegal activities Alberta separatists may be engaged in, whether in collusion with the USA or not, should be prosecuted to the full extent of Canadian law. Fortunately, unlike the situation south of our borders, Canadian laws and legal institutions still form the bedrock of our society.

If Russia is involved, it is payback for supporting NATO in breaking treaties for decades to hurt Russia. We don't even celebrate them taking enormous losses and still defeating Hitler in WW II. Europe has been bullying Russia for centuries, and the bear just wants to be left alone, or make friends.

It is a fact that "the West" followed the American/ US demands of libertarian economic postulate with all it's brutal ramifications long before the Trump administration. It just culminates and will not be questioned when spewed over all channels ,even the CBC without shame and any wider boundary regard.
