Trump's economic pressure has resulted in Carney bending to the petroleum industry, which is profiting American oil companies and which through technology is reducing jobs. So many more jobs can be created by focusing on alternatives, which are gaining in use. The Trump bogey man seems to have unsettled Carney so that he is making ludicrous compromises to Big Oil and Gas and his marked reflexes are manifesting.
Many of we Canadians could live with a lot fewer consumer items like cars and oversized houses in order to ensure that our children and grandchildren do not have to live in an uninhabitable planet. We need to tell our profligate politicians like Provincial Premiers Ford, Smith and Moe and PM Carney to stop the fossil fuel projects now! Survival is more important!
When I read about peak oil in 1957 I knew it would be a major factor in my life. In '77 I made it my vocation to demonstrate better alternatives. It is nice to have a bit more company now, but it is too late to save the world I hoped to preserve.
Care for sustenance for our lives, those now and of future generations here and in the world ranks a high responsibility. Support herein seems absolutely necessary.
I’ve not changed my mind for years from this position but want to make a comment so said yes.
I have not changed my opinion because I have always advocated, both financially and politically, for policies that promote green energy and environmental protection on the land, the seas, and in the air. An oil-focused approach in economics is short-sighted and entirely life-threatening.
Fighting climate change has been my top priority for several decades. No current events will change my perspective on its importance.

In order to fight planetary heating, we need to be together. For a better world, we need to work together. This has always been true.
I have always had a deep concern about climate change and that will never change.

The question was difficult to answer.
