This film exposes inequities in public education in Canada

What does "Decolonizing Education" mean? Decolonization is the process of undoing colonizing practices. Within the educational context, this means confronting and challenging the colonizing practices that have influenced education in the past, and which are still present today.

As part of PeaceQuest's work to promote peace education in schools, we thought that many readers might be interested in this new film, entitled "Understanding and Finding our Way: Decolonizing Canadian Education" (it runs 32:29 minutes).

This impactful film exposes inequities in public education in Canada and invites viewers to help decolonize education. The film was produced by Verna St. Denis and was directed by award-winning filmmaker Alison Duke.
