Interview: How to build a massive peace movement in Canada
Peace Magazine publisher Metta Spencer talks to Steve Staples about the future of PeaceQuest
Metta Spencer founded Peace Magazine in 1983, and the University of Toronto sociologist become Canada’s well-known publisher of news and interviews about the peace movement. Today, at 89, Metta has added podcasts to her coverage of the issues, and is a YouTube "influencer” through her seminal video interview series titled “Project Save the World.”
In this week's episode, the first of a new series of daily YouTube programs, Metta sat down with me (Steve Staples) to talk about PeaceQuest’s ambitions and contribution to the peace movement.
What resulted was a fascinating, sometimes contradictory, discussion of political and organizing strategies to build a stronger, more impactful peace movement in Canada.
