Seth Klein says that we need to treat the climate crisis just like an emergency. In fact, Canada needs to respond with the same determination as it did during the Second World War, when over a million Canadians went to Europe to fight the Nazis, and the entire government and the economy was rallied to confront the threat.

This is the message in his fascinating new book, “A Good War: Mobilizing Canada for the Climate Emergency,” published this month by ECW Press. Seth Klein is the founding Executive Director of the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives BC Office (and yes, in case you were wondering, he is Naomi Klein’s brother). I first met Seth in the 1990s in Vancouver, and we have been good friends ever since.
