What do you think? Canada’s response to Russia and Ukraine
Take our Peace Poll and see what others are saying, too
As PeaceQuest readers will know, we have been tracking very dangerous developments in Ukraine, including the growing risk of the horrific use of a nuclear weapon – the first since the attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945.
This week Canada’s Foreign Affair Minister Mélanie Joly was asked by CBC what Canada’s response might be should Russia make good on its threats and use a nuclear weapon. Minister Joly declined to say how Canada would respond if Russia uses a nuclear weapon in Ukraine, says the CBC.
"This is a decision we will not take in isolation," said Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly when asked repeatedly how Canada would respond if Russian President Vladimir Putin used a nuclear weapon in Ukraine. "This is a decision we will take amongst the G7."
