A recent poll found that many Canadians say gun violence is increasing in the communities they live in. The Angus Reid Institute recently polled about 5,000 Canadians and found that overall, 43 per cent believe gun violence is increasing in the area where they live, according to CTV News.

We received this urgent appeal from our friends at Canadian Doctors for Protection from Guns to support their efforts to bring in tougher gun controls laws.

Dear PeaceQuest readers:

Canadian Doctors for Protection from Guns is calling on the Liberal government to take bold action – and we need your help.

Please send your message to The Honourable Marco E. L. Mendicino, Minister of Public Safety, right away.

Canada needs, urgently:

  • a national handgun ban
  • a “Red Flag” law
  • a national firearms research centre
  • community directed investments
  • the assault weapons ban enshrined in legislation
