Webinar: Canada’s growing role in the arms trade

In 2019, Canada joined the Arms Trade Treaty, the first binding international framework to control the trade and transfer of weapons systems.

That year, Canada also exported more weapons abroad than at any point in its history. Many of these arms were sold to repressive regimes and fueled some of the world’s most heinous conflicts.

Join our friends at Project Ploughshares for a virtual discussion on Canada’s past and present role in the international arms trade.

“A VIRTUAL DISCUSSION ON CANADA’S GROWING ROLE IN THE INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND TRANSFER OF CONVENTIONAL WEAPONS”

Webinar: Monday, FEB 22 | 2:00-3:00 PM ET

by Project Ploughshares

Panelists:

  • Allison Pytlak, Programme Manager, Reaching Critical Will, Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF)
  • Anthony Fenton, Researcher and PhD candidate, York University, Toronto
  • Kenneth Epps, former Policy Adviser, Project Ploughshares

The webinar on Canada’s Arms Trade sponsored by Project Ploughshares has already sold out (Saturday 2:00 pm). If it is recorded perhaps send around a link next week.

Thank you thank you to Ploughshares for keeping us informed. I’ve written the PM but will do so again.
