We think of diplomats working to settle grievances between nations, and that should continue. There should also be a strong program to counter all the efforts within a country that stir up grievances in hopes of creating profits or maintaining a feud. Currently, war is Hell for citizens, but a bonanza for investors no matter who wins. NATO is a racket.

The pro-peace proposals of Lloyd Axworthy and Allan Rock are right on and should be implemented. The steps they are recommending would go a long way towards restoring Canada's once-prized reputation as a peace-maker and conflict mediator.
